The trekking trail starts from Vezza d'Alba, a small village resting on a striking rock in Roero. From here, a wonderful view panorama on Roero villages, perched on nearby hills: Castellinaldo, Priocca and Santo Stefano Roero.
Along lower and plainer hill tops, the trail reaches sense-involving cultivated lands, where white flowers and charming scents from the flowers of Madernassa pear trees enchant visitors in spring. Madernassa is a pear variety which has been cultivated in these lands since 1784 thanks to a local agronomist.
The track is bordered by peach trees - there are several varieties of sweetly scented and pink-hued peaches here - and Arneis vineyards - from which Arneis DOCG is produced. The trekking experience ends at a cellar where Roero wines are tasted, accompanied by local charcuterie products and Madernassa pears.
