From enchanted rocks to World Heritage vineyards.
Walking along the pathway, participants will have the chance to know two southern Piedmont lands. Lands which are near one another, both born from the sea, indeed thoroughly different: Langhe, on the Tanaro river right side " outstanding for their compactness, these lands are made of ancient marl, the natural cradle of well-structured wines such as Barolo and Barbaresco; and Roero, on the Tanaro river left side - a land more recent geologically, made of red sand and chalk.
territory rich in high value products such as fruits, vegetables and grapes, from which generations of producers have made - and make - unrivalled wines such Arneis and Roero, characterized by lingering taste and distinctively delicate and fruity bouquet, definitely to be unveiled.
Last but not least, High Langa, the most natural and less anthropic, offering visitors fascinating landscapes and unique food products.
Day 1, the trail leads visitors into the heart of Roero Rocks " a visually imposing geological formation standing out among ancient forests dotted with century-aged chestnut trees among which the over 400-year old Castagna Granda (the Grand Chestnut tree) shows off.
Day 2, participants are at the heart of vineyards, which have recently been awarded Unesco World Heritage status. Walking along Barolo pathways, visitors enjoy Serralunga, Monforte, Castiglione and Barolo - enchanting Medieval villages, characterized by imposing castles.
Day 3, Langhe peaks are reached - vineyards are replaced by hazelnut tree groves and easy tracks skirted by brooms, ferns, and junipers go through bay oak (quercus pubescens) and pine woods, embraced by a silence that make visitors see - and feel - the nearby Ligurian sea at night.
Day 1: Santo Stefano Roero - Vezza d'Alba long the Roero Rocks
Day 2: Serralunga - Barolo long the "Piedmont vineyard and wine landscapes" Heritage
Day 3: Castino - Mombarcaro in the "Alta Langa" hazelnut and cheese path
